“Outstanding Service” Award – Ricardo Soriano, Class 196
Northern California Chapter

 Ricardo (Cado) Soriano is recognized for his many years of dedicated service to the Alumni Association.   He has served in many capacities including board member, to his present position as Vice President of the Northern California Chapter.  His leadership in the Souvenir Program Committee has resulted in the publication of high quality souvenir books, among them during the 2001 Induction of Officers of the Northern California Chapter, the 2003 Grand Alumni Reunion in Tampa, Florida, the 2004 Silver Jubilee of the Northern California Chapter, and the 2005 Grand Alumni Reunion in the San Francisco Bay Area.  He demonstrates topnotch knowledge and expertise in the complex areas of layout, printing and production, tasks requiring patience, kindness, humor, organization, professionalism and complete dedication.  He is a point person for other organizations needing technical assistance for their souvenir books.

As a community leader, Cado belongs to the Philippine Cultural and Historical Association (PCHA) in Hercules, California, serving as a Director and the Perennial Chairman of Traffic & Logistics of the Association’s annual festival to celebrate Philippine Independence Day.  He is a long time member of the all-volunteer Filipino community choir, Rodeo/Hercules Choir.  He was the commissioner of the Morong Basketball League for the 2002 basketball league hosted in the Hercules Center, a summer event that brings together Morong’s youth and their families.  He continues this involvement as general manager of the Hercules’ team, the Wolverines.  He supports many community efforts with enthusiasm and dedication.  He was the founder of HIYAS (Wawa) Club, U.S.A., a civic and social group of friends and neighbors from Wawa in Northern and Southern California.  He provides leadership for this club in sponsoring a medical mission in the Barangay San Juan in Morong.

 Cado obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business, from TCMC (Morong) and studied Computer Programming at the Peralta Data Center in Manila.  He works for Xerox Corporation’s Data Center as Account Coordinator assigned to various clients in the San Francisco Bay Area.   He is married to the former Emma Feliciano, the chapter Treasurer, who works for Bechtel Corporation.  They have 2 sons Ryan and CJ.  In his free time he loves to tend his garden, go fishing, and enjoys various sports activities.
