“Outstanding Service” Award – Ellie Bautista Ramos, Class '68
Florida Chapter

Ellie Bautista Ramos has been a member of the MHSAA-Florida Chapter since the very beginning holding many responsibilities, including the position of Treasurer.  She was highly instrumental in the success of the 2003 Grand Alumni Reunion hosted by the Florida Chapter, handling the many intricate details of such a highly visible event.  Currently, Ellie is the chapter Secretary and helped in the shipment of the books for the Graduate School of Education, URS.  This donation is a first in the MHSAA-Florida Chapter history.

She is very active in supporting the many activities of the Morong and the Filipino-American communities in the Tampa Bay Area.  She belongs to the volunteer network of the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. of Florida, a well-known foundation that sponsors and promotes Filipino cultural arts.

 Ellie graduated with a degree in Medical Technology from Far Eastern University and worked as a Medical Technician at Morong Emergency Hospital until her departure to the U.S. in 1981.  Since then Ellie has worked as a supervisor in various fields of Medical Technology – Microbiology, Hematology, Chemistry, and blood bank supervisor at the famous Northside Hospital in Pinellas County.  Her most recent position as a member of the Open Heart Team in surgery at Northside makes her the first Filipino to hold such position.

 She is married to Engineer Ireneo Ramos. They have two multi-talented children – Christopher and Christine. The family now resides at 8348 Wrensway Pass, Largo, Florida  33773.
