URS Front Gate - Morong Campus
On August 11, 2001, Philippine President, Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, formally approved the transition of Rizal Polytechnic College to "University of Rizal System" (URS). At that time, Dr. Olivia Feliciano De Leon was appointed as the URS-Morong Campus Administrator.
Effective January 1, 2003, Dr. De Leon has been elected to the position as President of University of Rizal System. Although the seat of the URS main campus will be located in Tanay, we know that Morong and its people will be behind Dr. De Leon to make the system work for the surrounding towns within the system, as well as for the students and their parents.
On behalf of the alumni association, I wish to congratulate Dr. De Leon for her dedication, courage and commitment in gaining the presidency. Congratulations also to Mayor Jorge Bernardo, the faculty and staff of URS, the alumni association chapters, and the Morong Balikbayan Association for their support in seeing this very competitive issue to its final conclusion. See attached letters.
My fellow alumni, let us look at this as a new beginning of yet another bright light for Morong in proving itself as a first class academic town, an accomplishment that spans for generations. I enjoin you to support Dr. De Leon and our town in this "new beginning".
